Ripples of Knowledge – Puppet Show

This is a creative storytelling project that blends folklore, environmental awareness, and performance art. Centred around the myth of Sionann — the woman whose pursuit of wisdom gave rise to the River Shannon — the project reimagines traditional Irish mythology through a creative lens.

The project will be developed and performed by 2nd-year Early Childhood Care students, giving them hands-on experience in integrating sustainability themes into early childhood education. The puppet show features river creatures, each representing aspects of the river’s ecosystem and cultural heritage. Through their interaction with Sionann’s mythic transformation, the performance explores sacrifice, knowledge, memory, and environmental responsibility.

The event takes place at 206, Summerhill Road Campus, Wexford. All are welcome — booking is required, see the link above.
